Amazon has Contigo Autoseal West Loop Stainless Steel Travel Mug for sale. (I guess....since the price looks good to me.)

Same price as last FP deal.

16oz for around $12 and up, different color different price.

20oz for around $15-16, different color different price.

I've had about 4 Contigo from Costco. They all start to leak and are hard to keep clean especially if you use creamer and sugar in your coffee. They start leaving a thick black film on the plastic and is hard to clean off. I have tried using bottle brushes and the small brushes for the tube for Dr. Brown baby bottles to clean the lid and mouth opening. It's gross when you see the black junk that comes out and you are drinking it. Contigo wants you to buy new lids. Check YouTube for the problems and amazon reviews.

Found the video. I throw mine in dishwasher every night and still have this problem.

That video is showing the older design. I have my 20 oz Contigo from Prime Day and it has the new lid that is very easy to clean.

I believe that every travel mug has this kind of problem/issue.....even with your own teeth, those black junk adds up time by time, I usually use soda powder with just little water and also swabs to clean it, and of course, since it adds up everywhere inside the mug, you really cannot 100% clean, but that is how every coffee mug does.

Some says, use soda powder water soap it a bit and then use high pressure water to wash it....but I was like nah......too much for me.

But all in all, yeah, it is gross, but it is happening everywhere.

Yup, the old model doesn't have the lift to clean, which allows you to clean the inside of the lid. And the new one has that.

I looked at that newer model which flips out but if you look closely there are still too many nook and crannies you can't easily get to even with a bottle brush or nipple brush.

I am about to throw away my Contigo's from Costco and order these from Amazon.

The lid looks much better designed to keep clean.

Target has contigo 16oz for 9.99 and 20oz for 12.99. Different model but pretty much same specs and better heat and cold retention..

Oh, now I see it, must be after I was typing the comment.....

I had that model before, which I think the west loop autoseal is better, with the west loop, you just press button and drink, which is very easy for me. However, when I use the SnapSeal, the one you post, I need to flip the snap in order to unseal the lid. I had a handful of times that I was driving and the mug is full, using only one hand to flip the snap may cause the coffee splash out because of the movement......(Maybe I am just stupid enough to use...but it happened couple times already LOL....so I just go back to autoseal....)
