fairly decent price on a fairly decent PSU.

I personally like because it is only 5.5" deep vs most at this price range are 6.5" deep and allow for full size optical drive mounting in obscure micro ATX cases like the Silverstone ml05.
before you TD - we all have component needs at times and it seems it's never when the component is on a fire sale. this should satisfy someone looking for a deal at this time.

This was $15 earlier I believe, correct me if I'm thinking about another power supply

You're most likely thinking of the Corsair CX430 that regularly goes on sale for $16 AR. I don't know if one is better that the other, probably not.

The aforementioned CX430 is also only 5.5" deep if you were wondering. I could be wrong, but I think most in the sub-500 watt are this size until you move beyond that in wattage.

the cx430 is however most of the cheap PSUs in low wattage are made with the larger box to keep manufacturing costs down bybsharing casing from larger PSU.anyways good deal but just realized the cx430 is back to $16 after promo code and rebate

Also just noticed that the Corsair is 80+ Bronze, while this is only just 80+. I guess that does make the Corsair better.

The Corsair CX450M is probably the best deal in this price range and wattage right now at $26 after coupon code/rebate. It's partially modular; has a 5-year warranty vs. 3; it uses DC to DC conversion, which is what high-end PSU's use; and it also has (2) PCIe 6+2 connectors which some GPUs require.

On a side note yes a smaller PS is preferred.
