I have this Insignia set and use it as a bedroom TV. I'm pretty happy with it, but the price definitely shows its budget roots.

For those discerning types, you won't be happy with the backlight bleedthrough - the blacks are not very black on this set. However, the color and contrast is decent otherwise and it had the inputs I needed.

Definitely a good deal if you understand what you'll be watching!

Wow finally, a TV deal... about time.
I would have actually gotten this one, nice bedroom set, or kitchen/bathroom.

Hi, were you able to apply the $10 off edu coupon on this TV? I tried and it didn't work for me.

Spend $20 more and get the 43" Roku Haier if it's still available at Walmart. Way better deal.

Got the Insignia 40" for the parents. Good basic TV, no complaints for the <$200 paid with tax. I hope it lasts.

I would usually say avoid BB brand but this is a good price for a 40".

So you can take the savings from the TV not having built in features, and use it to buy what ecoststem you want (Roku, Amazon, Apple). Or, use what you already have. Besides, on a lot of lower end tvs, the smart features are either so bad or slow it's not worth using. Though the budget TVs coming out with built in Rokus aren't too bad. It's not as quick as a standalone, but does a decent job.
