Extremely bright and powerful... I can't tell the difference between this and my 35 dollar mountain bike light with a rechargeable battery.

IPX-4 water rating:
This is the splashing water rating. Essentially, your flashlight will survive any splash of water from any direction. This is the flashlight you want to take on a whitewater rafting trip.

Killer price for 4 bucks.

What is wrong with 18650 Batteries? In my experience all the best handheld torches use them.

I found a 5000lm on Ebay that uses 3 AAA batteries for $1.90.. I also just got a 5000lm that uses and comes with two 18650 and charger for $10. After charging the batteries, I was impressed just how bright these are, but I fear the rechargeable, so I thought I might try the $2 version to compare. Alkaline's are cheap if you buy them right..

too cheap to convince me it's a high-quality light.

Hahaha, I love the ludicrous lumen levels advertised by sellers.

Chances are, the actual brightness is sub 500.
