Great deal on a gigabit switch but too many bad experiences with Netgear for me.

Did Netgear sue you too for reselling their products?

This being unmanaged it's probably fine but.
After my first netgear purchase, A 8 port managed 1GbE PoE switch + two SFP.
I can finally understand why some people say "friends don't let friends buy netgear".
The switch works fine except for the fact after a few hours the web configuration crashes and refuses to load.
Not to mention it's device view is written in a old version of java...
What is the point of buying a managed switch that has to be physically reset every time you need to access it.

Just had my 8 port netgear managed switch that I bought in February take a dump. It only took a 30 minute phone call for them to send me a new one, but nothing like that should die on you in 5 months.

I went through this BS when I tried to flip an extra couple of routers I bought from infamous WM deal last year. I chosen not to fight and de-listed the last router I had left from Amazon Marketplace (and ended up selling it for more at CL) after receiving the Netgear BS email. From that time I am not buying any of their product on principal. With very few exceptions, Netgear products are crap anyways and there are always better alternatives from Asus, HP or Linksys which can be gotten for less if you know where to look.

I have a lot more than 16 devices. Everything in the house is wired. My set-up is kind a messed up, two 8 ports in the basement and three 5 ports that branches else somewhere in different rooms.

All ports are on one side, and I like the fact that it has mounting holes and hardware that permit you to hang it out of sight so all that cable mess can stay off the top of the desk. Nice deals. Thanks OP!

I've been waiting for this sale.

I have several of the "ProSafe" switches many of which have been in service more than five years without any issues. I think these are great, reaped!

They also have a lifetime grantee and I thought one of my five port switches was failing. Netgear sent a replacement very quickly... then it turned out NOT to be the switch at all. So I have never had one fail.

Keep in mind too that the ProSafe is their higher end line.

Thanks OP!
