  • 6th Generation Intel Core i7 6700HQ (2.60 GHz)
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M 4 GB GDDR5
  • 16 GB Memory
  • 512 GB SSD (M.2 SATA)
  • 1 TB HDD
  • 17.3" Full HD 1920 x 1080
  • DVD Super Multi
  • Win10 64-bit Home
  • Free backpack bundle **

Note that this includes a 512 GB SSD (M.2 SATA) as the boot drive plus a 1 TB storage drive. We've seen lots of gaming laptops posted here but this is probably the best price I've seen on a machine configured with these kind of specs.

LINK [newegg.com]

** For a limited time, you can also get a free backpack bundle [newegg.com] with your purchase
  • Back to School Pack, for Channel (Vortex / GT72S / GT80S)
  • Neck Pillow
  • Mini Block Dragon
  • Black GT Battle pack

The $100 MIR [newegg.com] expires 8/31.
You can also get $16.00 off by using a cashback site. Everytime I mention it, the mods just keep deleting it so just google it guys.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

For comparison purposes you can look up a similar deal that was posted a month ago here for almost $300 more. Although that was also a GT72 model, it required A) price matching & B) getting the deal through Frys which not everyone has available in their area.

Also featured a 256 GB regular SSD as opposed to a 512 GB M.2 SSD for the boot drive. Not only more capacity, but much faster boot times. Not sure if Frys was offering free shipping on that last one but there is free Eggsaver shipping on this deal.

Bought one for my lil brother, he has been waiting for a good deal to drop for a few weeks. BTW using paypal here makes no sense since you lose the extra 1 year warranty+pay paypal fees on a 1600$ purchase.

I did not know you'll lose 1 year warranty for paying via PayPal. Where did you see that? I never had to pay extra PayPal fee when purchasing from newegg. Please explain. Thanks.

I would be all over this deal if the graphic card is 8gb instead of 4gb.

This deal at Newegg is worlds better. You don't have to go through some BS price matching and it's a straight up price with no tricks involved. More importantly, you're getting a much faster boot drive (M.2 SATA) and twice the capacity! 256 GB versus 512 GB -- all for $1499 AR. As I said before, it's ~$300 less than that other deal.

In a perfect world, 8 GB would be nice, but for this price point 4 GB is just as good. Now on the other hand, if you're willing to forgo the 512 GB M.2 SSD as your boot drive, you can get this MSI laptop [amazon.com], that has similar specs with the 8 GB dedicated video graphics memory. It's also ~$350 more. Wink

It's a good thought but it can't be applied to this deal.

Only if there was a way to remove that backpack bundle from this deal, it would probably work.

I've never heard of such a thing. Newegg does not charge any extra fees for using Paypal as a method of payment. As far as the extra 1-year warranty goes, it's $99 and you can add that as an option regardless of which payment option you choose.

Thanks for the heads up TDMVP73! My post got such little attention the first time around - maybe the shell shocker deal will light it up.
