I like my baby gates like I like my women... Soft N Wide... and easy install...

I dunno about these baby gates. I just don't think they work.
.plain and simple. I'm a stay at home dad, and I finally got my buddy to call out of his big fancy job to spend the day with me, since I've been telling him how awesome and radical my days are going to be now, because I bought 4 baby gates the other day. Well, i had him hold my beer, and about 15 minutes later the 4 baby gates were zip-tied together to form a perfect, safe, quaint little human prison. I'm not a scientist or like a measurer at all, but i couldnt get the ratios to feel right... i bought 4 baby gates, that's 2 per kid, a 4 month old and then my big guy, my 1.5 year old. Since the instructions didn't say what to do if the babies jump out of the top (there's no roof or anything, unless they sell separate), i just put it in the basement and tossed a spare blanket on top of it. Bonus: this also helped keep the babies calm while we walked away. without the blanket they screamed so loud and wouldn't stop crying. Anywho, I should get to why I suspect these things are a total ripoff... My buddy and i spent the day at the strip club and don't get me wrong, even tho it was BYOB, and the girls were mostly 2s-6s TOPS, we still had a great day. When I came home that night after the club closed, my wife was up waiting for me. I suddenly panicked and thought, damn, i left the kids at "Daddy's Den" again! But then, BAM, i remembered ...baby gate! I'm good, I'm okay. I smiled my cockiest, most arrogant smile and muttered "how ya like them baby gates, eh?" you wouldn't believe my dismay when wifey said that when she got home from the factory, the kids were complaining that they were hungry. ...hungry? wtf? that kind of stuff was all supposed to be taken care of...maybe I'll exchange them and see if I can't get a set that actually works for once in my life....sheesh...

I bought the same one to keep our dog out of the family room while we are gone and she couldn't break it down. She is just a pug, but a rather smart one.

They are crappy. Have two that broke fairly easily. They not sit in front of the entertainment center but will soon be in the trash.

Trust me... these wooden ones are horrible and not safe for kids. I tried both wooden ones and also plastic ones and finally changed to Regalo Easy Open gates, which are really good and no hardware needed.
