This seems to be a good price for this Ozark Trail Tent Cot. Normal price is 129.97. This may be a clearance price. Mixed reviews but will work great for my son in Boy Scouts.

put your kids in the tent outside, take the wife to pound town
I actually used this exact model for a season of racing here in socal.

Upsides: setup is easy, and comfort is decent, definitely better than sleeping on the ground and despite size it was easier to transport than a separate tent, mattress/ air mattress and a pump. without the rainfly on its damn near just a cot with a skeeter net, so its good for warm weather

Downsides: I ran into both rain and high winds in this tent, which sucks ass in any tent. the top and sides are pretty close to you (not for claustrophobic types). When rain hits the tent its pretty loud, and the high winds treated the rain fly like a parachute, inflating and deflating the tent with the gusts, and closed in with a solid night of camp drinking....was not cool.

All in all for me, this is still the perfect setup and I highly recommend it over a 3person tent that would only really fit one person any how.
These aren't designed for backpacking. They are designed for the person that is driving to their camping location and can pull this out of the trunk or their RV. I haven't tried this model but the one I tried out at Cabela's was a heck of a lot nicer experience than sleeping on the ground with a sleeping pad.

Tempting. Aside from how heavy it is, this would be great for short camping trips.

What a weird product. 26 lbs and probably rather large to carry.

I'd still rather have a cheap tent and sleeping pad. At a 1/5 the weight.

Might want to be sure this works for you scout. Typically scouts sleep two or more to a unit for Youth Protection. This cot is a single only. It is also heavier than most tents by themselves. I would not recommend it for scouting, unless you have some specific need for it.

gauging from you question, you dont backpack. because sleeping on an sleeping pad is not comfortable. and a sleeping pad is not the same as a sleeping mattress. a cot is significantly more comfortable than a sleeping pad.

I see the cot in the main pic, but what do you actually sleep on? A pad or inflatable mattress? Directly on the ground, yes, is super uncomfortable with either the pad or inflatable, so I can see how this may be better

if you have a rv why would you bother with a tent?

There is no Youth Protection requirement that youth sleep two or more to a tent. Scouts do have a buddy system which keeps them from being off alone, but there wouldn't be any problem with a scout in one of these cot-tents sleeping near another scout in a hammock, for example.

There may be other reasons (like size and weight) which may make this thing not as practical for scouts as other solutions.

Looks cool - to hang out at night and not have to worry about bugs. Not sure if you can do a pass through to connect with friends
