There's only minimal gains to be had with push/pull on nearly all rads out there. Unless they have a high fin density, it's really not worth the trouble.

Is it the pump or the fans that are noisy?

People complain about the fans being loud, which can be replaced.

I have this cooler on an i5... I didn't notice any extreme "noise" from the pump or the fans. I did replace the fans after a while with some better Phantech fans that were on sale a few months back, but I honestly didn't see a difference in noise level going from one to the next. I mainly only hear the airflow if I crank the fans way up... Maybe it's case dependant, right now my system is open air...

It's common knowledge that CLC's are louder for the same performance compared with high end air coolers.

That being said, it looks sexier and it fits in a more compact space, and can be transported safely due to it not being an unwieldy weight.

But those people are niches since most of us have the PC standing on the desk or under immobile.

i would have to agree. the closed loop isn't filled completely therefore there are left over air bubble and sometimes the pump would be noisy.

It's the pumps that are noisy though. I mean I've replaced the H100's fans with Noctua SB12s and it was still way louder than a fan based CPU cooler because the pumps can make clicking sounds and also it causes the case to resonate. But if you have a lot of loud case fans it won't seem very loud, only if you are trying to build a quiet HTPC.
