Nice midrange model offered at an entry-level price. TweakTown.com and others gave this model very good reviews when it was at a slightly higher price. Mushkin is a USA company, too.

Great deal.

Anytime soon the HDD will become a relic of the past, at least for consumers.

Are you talking about cloud computing or mechanical drives?

I'm talking about cloud and personal storage.

In a couple of years the cost per GB will still be in favor of the HDD, so it will be the dominant mass storage for cloud/personal storage, but for most consumers, a drive with 500 or 1000 GB will be more than enough.

I found the x400 for 225 on ebay. The mushkin looks like it has much faster benchmarks, but the x400 has more than twice the endurance. This will be the only drive on my laptop so I think the endurance is more important to me.
