I know I'm a little late to this, and the question doesn't really fit, but I figure I'll ask anyway:

Is there anyone that bought this or a previous T20 that did not come with the optical drive and now wants to add an optical drive? I ordered a previous deal that included the optical drive, but I figure I want to remove the ODD. Unfortunately, that would leave a hole in the computer, and I don't want that.

Since I don't need the drive, I'd be willing to trade someone for just the faceplate that covers the opening. If anyone is interested, PM me. I'm not asking for any money, just a straight trade and each person pays for shipping their part to the other person.

Or if anyone has already added an ODD and no longer needs the faceplate, I'd be glad to take it off their hands...Smilie

Just disconnect the power & data cable to the drive and you will have a face plate.

I could really use a system to backup all my notebook computers at home, which includes both Windows and Mac. As for hardware, I have two identical terabyte hard drives in a closet that have never been used before that I purchased from a deal awhile ago waiting for use. I realize I could check the Internet for suggestions, but what would be a good Linux distribution to achieve that? What else could I use the server for?

I think I read another comment that the T20 works with FreeNAS. I'm using a Synology right now but I've always heard great things about FreeNAS and I'm thinking of trying it.
