That's why I clicked on this as well even though I'm not currently in the market for a monitor. I was curious as to whether there was something special about it, like a weird console mounting bracket.. Nope. Just a monitor. Though I guess they're saying "console" because it has an HDMI output and therefore can be used to stream consoles, which with a PC you would just plug another HDMI cable into your graphics card for..

My guess is the 1ms is why they are calling it gaming.

It's actually designed for console gaming in mind. Tvs generally don't have this low input lag. It also has features to enhance dark areas of the screen to help visibility in competitive games. It also has passthrough so you can hook up regular computer speakers for sound using a mini audio jack.

I have the RL2755HM and it beats the crap out of any display I've used for console.

They say "console gaming" because 60hz is the max refresh rate for consoles, but a lower refresh rate for competitive PC gaming. PC gamers prefer 144hz.

Yeah that's another point. 60hz is max refresh rate. For a while I was looking at a monitor that had gsync, 1080p with two HDMI and 144hz refresh rate at 27 inch so I could use it for both pc and console gaming. I guess no one makes that so now I'm waiting until probably end of next year for a 4k gsync 144hz monitor for pc gaming and console gaming.

I'm not sure you are up to date on monitor specs. What you want is available, just not in the configuration you want because it pretty much doesn't exist because it won't do what you want!

Here's a 27" G Sync 1080P 144Hz monitor. In order to get 144Hz, HDMI is not an option.

And another-

And lots more- https://www.google.com/search?q=2...sync+144Hz

I'll look when I get a chance. I just want HDMI to hook up my console. I have a gtx 1080 on my pc for dp. I know I should get 1440p monitor but I don't like that 1080p doesn't scale well with it.

Well, my main point was you won't get 144Hz with an HDMI connection. You can of course get an HDMI-DP adapter to use, but you will still only get 60Hz and you would just need to do audio via another source. Which honestly why would anyone want to use monitor speakers?? Smilie
