My balls have been holding up well. Would recommend if you need a good pair; get these.

What does this dryer balls do ? just keep it soft ? Does it make a lot of noise when you turn on the dryer?

How many do you put in for each dryer cycle?

Does this replace dryer sheets?

I love mine. They dry clothes faster, prevent some twisting of larger items like sheets and comforters that tend to roll into a dry outer, wet inner core. I still use dryer sheets, but it's like throwing a pair of shoes in the dryer to get your clothes to tumble and opens air pockets where clothes naturally want to pack together.

Reviews say $1 tennis balls work too. But at $2 each, these don't seem that bad.

The dryer balls seperate clothes while the dryer is on which circulates hot air better to dry clothes fasterand less wrinkles than without the balls. Also, the dryer balls seem to make clothes softer.

You can also use tennis balls. I have these dryer balls and use all 6 balls when I dry clothes. Yes, they make a lot of noise, same as having 6 tennis balls inside the rotating dryer machine. Perhaps, less noise if you have a lot of clothes inside the machine. I don't know as my washer and dryer are in the basement and I don't stay there to listen how loud it gets.

I don't use dryer sheets. I only use these dryer balls. You shouldn't use dryer sheet for towels due to the chemicals in dryer sheet make towels less absorbing but you can use thse dryer balls for towels, and the balls are reusable.

There is no evidence that these do anything. They are not proven to dry clothes faster or increase softness.

Reading the reviews, I wonder why some users experience lint on their clothes while others don't.
