I am looking for suggestions for some best bang for the buck travel ideas. I really dont have anywhere particular in mind. Just want it to be somewhere that Southwest flies as I have about 100k points and a companion pass though them till the end of the year. I am not necessarily looking for cheap (like $19/night toledo red roof in with free wifi), just something that is a good deal. All inclusive is nice and Off season work as well, just has to be by the end of the year. Doesnt have to be a specific deal, but general suggestions on where and when to look are appreciated. However if you happen to have an amazing gem of a deal, i wont say no to that Wink

Try Puerto Rico. It's part of the US so they use dollars and you don't need a passport. You can get a condo on the beach or an Airbnb instead of a hotel. I liked it. Be sure to tour the Bacardi run factory

Puerto Rico is nice and you can find accommodations that are beachfront or very close to the water relatively cheap. We have used VRBO to stay beachfront in Condado -- lots to do in that area and good restaurants -- and in Isla Verde. We have also stayed at Sandy Beach, a small hotel in Condado that is close to the beach, right next to the Marriott, but fairly cheap.

Playa del Carmen Mexico is great and Southwest flies there. Lot's of great apartments and all-inclusive hotels, and plenty to do with Mayan ruins and the parks like Xcaret, Xplor, and Xel-Ha. I'm in the same boat as you and thinking of Puerto Rico as we just did PDC in December.

Lots to do in PR just in Old Town and Condado. Free trolley around Old Town and to the fort. Bus service all around San Juan. Check out the rain forest. That's a nice trip.

Have you considered Punta Cana? It's a great place. Southwest flies there. You can find there good hotel deals.

We just finished Costa Rica, Belize and have plans to do Puerto Rico and Cancun later this year. Also you didn't mention where you live, based on which I could give you more suggestions. We have been enjoying companion pass all of 2015 and 2016 and we are trying and getting more places done before it expires later this year. Some of favorite places have been New Mexico - ABQ for Alburqurque, Santa Fe and Taos area. ELP (El Paso) to go to White sands in New mexico. Try Nashville if you want to go into smokies for fall. Try DCA to do shennandoah for falls colors. More suggestions once I know your origin airport

The Marriott Casa Magna in Cancun is a non all-inclusive that is very nice for about $200/night and Southwest flies there non-stop. Millions of All-inclusive's in Cancun if that is more to your liking. Also Punta Cana has great weather and nice beaches. Have to do an all-inclusive there, as there isn't that much to do but relax. Also non-stop from Chicago. Unfortunately, Puerto Rico isn't non-stop so that is out for us, but it all depends where you are coming from.
