Travelling to Europe this fall from the US, and I've never been. Looking for advice specifically on plug adapters, but also any tips in general.

We'll be going to Copenhagen, Ireland, London, Germany, then most likely east to Prague, maybe Plzen, Vienna, and maybe Bratislava. Might end up in either Scotland or Spain, too! We'll be staying with some friends, couchsurfing, airbnb's, hostels, etc.

We're not taking much in the way of electronics, just a couple cell phones, and maybe a tablet. I have an AC adapter capable of the higher voltages and 50Hz, so I believe all I need is some quality plug adapters. Should I buy a good quality all-in-one multi plug adapter? Or is it better to get separate quality adapters for type G (UK) and type F (most of europe, I guess.) Also, do I specifically need an additional type E adapter for the czech republic?

Also any general advice/tips are appreciated from you seasoned pros. Thank you. wave

Make sure whatever you want to plug in works with the higher voltage overseas. The plug adapter just lets you plug it in -- a transformer is what would convert it to a different voltage. Most likely the electronics you're taking are dual voltage so all you'll need is a plug adapter, but it's worth a check because if they aren't you'll fry them plugging them in over there. A good all-in-one plug should do fine. And good doesn't mean you have to spend a fortune -- I used one daily for years that cost something like $11 at Wal-Mart.

I used this one (LINK [amazon.com]) on my trip to UK, France, and Italy and it worked fine. You would have to check to make sure it has the adapters for other countries on your travels. I see they also have some that have USB travel ports (LINK [amazon.com]).
