Wow this is nice. Can anyone give their experience on this one? Should I pull the trigger or will there be a better back-to-school deal? I need it for programming and web development.

There's no guarantee that there's going to be a better or similar deal on a laptop on BF.

Too bad that this wasn't around when I bought my current laptop back in February. Would have snagged it.

For your requirement, it is perfect because of having a top of the line CPU, plenty of Ram and SSD + HDD combination. GTX 950M also let you play most games with mid settings. Also having a touchscreen may be good for your work.

I have checked in Amazon and it has pretty good review. Here is the Amazon link where you can get all the reviews:-

Personally I am waiting, prices seem inflated with the next generation right around the corner. Waiting for a deal on a solid Thunderbolt 3 laptop also.

gtx 950m with ddr3 vs gtx 940mx with gddr5 in the other deal, which is better? gddr3 seems like it would limit this

Thanks for your advice. I also read that the GTX 950m has compatibility issues and would often crash, something I don't want to experience again.

I had the same model line without the touchscreen and it didn't come with the M.2 drive, just had the open slot.

I ended up returning it because of terrible backlight bleed/flashlighting all around the screen and because of terrible reflection glare off the extremely glossy screen (this version will have the gloss too, but it is a trade off because of the touch screen).

However, other than those issues it was one of the best laptops I have used. Thin, light (for the hardware), vents out of BOTH sides so it stays cooler and quieter than many other laptops. The 950m is capable of playing most stuff, but it is not overly impressive. Just gravy on top of the other specs.

You can get gaming laptops for around this price with the 960m if you are patient and diligent about looking, but this is going to run a bit cooler and include the M.2 and touchscreen that you're not going to get on gaming laptops at this price.

I'm not sure of any such compatibility issues. If you have latest Nvidia drivers installed, I don't think it has any compatibility issue. From where did you get that piece of information?
