Been meaning to get some blackout curtains, but I can't see myself with any of these designs. What happened to old fashioned solid colors?

I would assume a lot of light filters through the holes across the top for the curtain rod. I'll stick with what I've been doing, gluing newspapers over the windows.

I like this idea, could you recommend any type of glue that would work well when removing? I am currently in an apartment. Thanks
