Amazon has the Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus (black) for $88.00.

I haven't priced these in a long time but this is the lowest it gets on Amazon per the camels.

Walmart has it for the same price as well. I have a few coupons for Best Buy. I think I will take a drive to price match.

The newest version (TI-84 plus CE) in on sale at Target through July 30th for $89.99 (plus tax, minus 5% for target card holders). This is a much better unit just in terms of the screen.

Get the TI-84 plus CE, it comes with a rechargeable battery that lasts forever because of the new arm architecture.

The CE is also a great deal, and OP should add to his post. Thanks!

People still use these? I had a TI-82 in 1996, but assumed everyone's using laptops/tablets these days.

This was a year or two ago, but our school advised us to purchase IIRC the Silver Plus edition

Yeah people still buys these. I am sure there are plenty of other apps out there for android and iOS that will do all and more than what these graphing calculators of the y2k time era.

The problem is that teachers generally will not let kids have phones during tests in school for obvious reasons.

Get these on ebay or Craigslist. seriously! Texas Instruments is running a monopoly business, it's pretty ugly.

That's because TI cornered the market and used their clout to ensure progress would follow their own trajectory, as opposed to the pace of technology. Watch the following video for better information:

I'll never forget, two years ago when I had started college, I needed one of these for a calculus class and had been looking everywhere. Well, I google it one day and under the shopping tab it said "$34 at Radioshack". Of course, it had been sold out and I doubt it was ever really that price, but just was messed up saying that, but for shits and giggles I went to Office Depot and showed the cashier it and he was totally cool selling it for that....Like gave no fight, just adjusted the price and I was in and out in 5 minutes.

Do not buy this as this is not a good price.

Especially with the TI-84 Plus CE for 90 at target [target.com] or $80 with the $10 off 50 posted above..

If you are getting this for your child or yourself, please do a favor and get the CE. Not only does it have higher resolution and backlit display, it's actually faster than the older ti-84, therefore it graphs faster and performs calculations faster. Do not get the ti-84 Plus C, that's just a colored display with the old processor.

The Ti-84 CE can also be used for standard tests like the ACT [powerscore.com]and SAT [collegeboard.org].
