Amazon [amazon.com]

Nice display if you are in the market for one at a decent price vs the typical $699 sale prices.

I price matched at Best Buy a month ago at $699.00.

Great for productivity, 3 Excel spreadsheets on one screen, 2 page docs on one screen. Music, messaging windows all open while working.

If you are a gamer, plan on upgrading your video card if u want to run 3440 x 1440.. With a GTX 1080, I can get 50-60 fps with TW3 on ultra setting, 60+ if I change foliage view distances to high.

All the 34" ultrawides are a worthwhile upgrade.

Does come with w/ a 6' Displayport cable unlike some of the other 34" models.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

LOL. Monitor was introduced at IFA Show in Berlin in September, 2014 and became available in late 2014 and early 2015.

The two displays I replaced were side by side 2ms 1080P Samsung P2770H 27" displays from 2009. Really nice setup and I had no reason to replace them until I bought the 34".........

"Date first available at Amazon.com August 2, 2013"

That's Amazon talking, not me.

I'm still rocking a Dell 3007. I will say I've seen free sync monitors in the $700 and I'd personally want that over a curve generic 60hz monitor.

From what I've read, with those games that can play at high fps (60+) on those gsync/fsync monitors (unlike Witcher 3), the main upside would be a consistent, smooth image when you get into a situation where frame rates drop suddenly?

I've never experienced freesync or gsync but from what I've read I believe they both function as a no overhead vsync for certain fps ranges and make a world of difference for smoothness.

For gaming I've read you want Ultrawide, high Hz refresh rate, and free or gsync.

If you can, wait for the CF791. 3440x1440, HDR, 100Hz refresh rate, displayport 1.3. It'll likely cost a little more, but will be much more futureproof. There are only certain times when I say wait for the next best thing and this is one of those times. If it's advantages don't interest you, that's fine too. Just know what's coming within a month or so so you are making an informed decision.

What if you are using the Nvidia Pascal chip? I looked at the Acer Predator offering ($1199 )and wasn't able to make the depth of that stand work.....way too deep for my desk and I can't use a VESA mount in this situation or clamp mount. It's a computer hutch......The Dell 34" has better stand dimensions vs the Samsung. I'm into waiting for the next best thing...hence I am running the MSI GTX 1080 Sea Hawk. I'll keep an eye out since I still have a small return window left on the display.

Deal is dead....Back to $699.

Pascal has dp1.4 so you are great on most of the features. Unfortunately, Samsung has only released information on Freesync displays and it's hard to say if they will do a gsync variant. I really hope they do but right now, you are probably going to have to wait for other oems to use this or AUO's panel with Gsync.
