I've had my eye on the UN65KS8000 for a while now. Last week this item was $2,197 on sale at most retailers. The lowest price that I'm aware of was $1,997 a few weeks ago, and again at Best Buy and Costco this week. However, I decided to check my BJ's (a B&M wholesale chain similar to Costco and Sam's Club for those who aren't aware), and I was shocked to see the current price listed as $1,789.99.

Brand: Samsung
Model: UN65KS800D (This is the same as the UN65KS8000, it's just branded differently for wholesale clubs).

Product Features:
  • 65" (64.5" measured diagonally) screen for immersive viewing
  • Brilliantly clear 4K 3840 x 2160 resolution
  • Accurate shades and lifelike colors come alive with SUHD Quantum Dot Color
  • High Dynamic Range (HDR) 1000 nits reveals bright hidden details
  • Watch non-SUHD content in bright and vivid picture quality with Samsung's intelligent picture engine
  • UHD Dimming optimizes color, contrast and image detail
  • Precision Black enhances contrast and preserves deep blacks and color richness in brighter room light settings
  • Ultra-slim bezel creatures a virtually edgeless picture
  • Sleek metallic body and streamlined back looks stunning from any angle
  • Access live TV, streaming content sources and apps all in one place with Smart Hub
  • Includes TV, remote, stand, user manual
  • Warranty: 1 year

I've been watching the Costco verison and it's back down to 1989. Too bad it hasn't dropped this low. No BJs around us.

If you care about blooming or plan to use this TV in a dark room I'd stay away. This TV has some light bleed and huge dimming zones that produce bad vertical blooming around bright objects that ruins the surrounding blacks. I returned mine and bought a Vizio P65. Couldn't be happier.

why am i hesitating? this is THE tv i've been waiting for. Not only that, I think my wife will be a fan of the Gunmetal grey over the silver bezel that we saw while B&M browsing at Best Buy. We've always been a household of Sony and the black bezel that is unnoticed.

Looks like free shipping and no tax for me too since i'm in KY

I've also been torn between the Vizio P and this KS8000. According to Rtings, both are considered some of the best 2016 4K TVs on the market.

The killer for me is that I want to use it with a PC. Apparently the KS8000 is superior to the Vizio P65 for computer use, as it supports "true" Chroma 4:4:4 at 4K/60Hz, whereas the 2016 Vizio models accept 4:4:4 signals but apparently don't actually render 4:4:4, which causes mild color banding and slight blurring of text when used with a PC.

Either way, BJ's has a fantastic return policy so I'll give it a whirl. It's also worth noting that the Vizio P65 is currently $1,999 at Best Buy (the only reputable retailer that carries 2016 P-series), so it's $210 more than this current offering, plus take another $75 if you have a Chase Freedom card (current offer is 5% cash back on $1,500 at BJ's).

I bought a Best Buy 10% off code on EBay for $20. Took $200 off the P. Don't get me wrong, the KS is a very nice TV but I like to watch movies at night and the blooming just ruins it.

Looking to pull the trigger on the TV. I almost bought the LG 65UH9500 but then read this was a better TV. Now you guys are saying the Visio P65 is even better?

Hah good old slick deals! Every1 will tell you there is a better model until someone says OLED and then someone will say it's 3k it's an endless loop!

I've had problems with Vizio never with Samsung and it's cheaper that made my mind up for me. And this is pound for pound their best

OLED is the new standard because it can achieve plasma clarity and brightness at reasonable power consumption on par or below std 4k sets, pricing is still far too high for mainstream
