I bought a product as this to get bolts or sockets/tools when I drop them into my engine. Which lucky for me isn't a lot cause they attach to the metal of the engine so strong they break off cause the stick is weak as a baby.

No, most electrical wire is non-ferrous, and even if it were these are gonna let go at anything more than about a couple pounds of force.

These things are awesome. I used mine today to retrieve a screw and socket that fell in my engine bay while working on the car this afternoon.

I have never used this particular magnet but I do have something similar in my man box. A must have for working on your man-gine and even on man-bikes. Helps pick up those little knublets that are magnetic.
