I think BF was $299. At that time it had been priced at $399 for some time prior to BF.

I got this on black Friday, pretty sure it was 299. It's a decent saw for the price.

It was a Kobalt at Lowes, very good portable table saw for the money.

Gotcha. I thought you meant you got this exact table saw for $179. I was scared that I missed a super slick deal.

The kobalt doesn't get the sane ratings as this saw. The Bosch Dewalt and the ridgid are interchangeable as the 1,2 and 3 best Portable table saws. I personally have the ridgid and really like it. It replaced a ryobi which by comparison was terrible. I bought mine based on reviews, cost and the lifetime warranty was very important. this comparison site swayed me to the ridgid over the Bosch (price was also a factor)

Also, I paid $399 as a regular price a few months ago and used a Harbor freight coupon. I paid $320+tax.

I am just saying for the money it's a damn good saw especially if you can get it for what I paid $179.00. For someone using it every day in a business it might not be heavy duty enough. The Kobalt does get good reviews too.

The Kobalt and this Ridgid are very close performance wise so far. I have both. The one plus for the Ridgid is the LSA (Lifetime Service Agreement) which is the only reason I have as many Ridgid tools as I do. I would wait and see if this gets the big discount for black Friday again unless you're in a hurry. On a side note the new 12" Ridgid Miter saw is better/nicer than the Kobalt one. Their cordless brushless tools are both really nice. I like the deals Kobalt has and the cheaper batteries but again Ridgid has the LSA which is an extremely nice feature since it even covers batteries from kits.

I also looked at all top 3 in this category. I settled on the Dewalt for it's sturdiness and well regarded fence system. Wasn't a big fan of the plastic used on the Ridgid/Bosch for the frame.
