Thread Details

Just walked through Target's board game section and saw that this was on clearance down to $9.20 from $30.69. Could be extreme YMMV but worth a shot if you're going to Target and missed this same deal from Amazon a few weeks ago.

Similarly, Amazon has it again for $13.79 with free shipping.

Never even heard of this board game, but considering all it comes with, it seems like a pretty great bargain. Anyone with input on the actual game?

The game is a re-skin of Heroscape with some custom rules. But not as fancy. At $9 this is a great deal. They had plenty at my local target.

My GF and I discovered this deal last week and decided to give it a try. The rules seem fairly straightforward, although have a bigger learning curve over the average board game. It follows MtG rulesets for the card game with simple tweaks to translate to board game rules, so veterans of the CCG will feel at home. However, the basic campaign is a simple duel (try to kill each other) and left a lot to be desired. We found after just one game that unless you do quite a bit of research beforehand and understand deeply each Planeswalkers strengths/weaknesses, it became a match of move your main hero within range of your opponent and attack until dead.

I'm sure there's a deeper level of gameplay to be had here, but unless you're willing to put in the effort to learn the inner mechanics of it -- it's pretty boring. Even for ~$9, I'm going to try and return it because it wasn't engaging for us.

Great feedback, thanks!
