someone in my house just went through 4 years of college, 2 years of graduate
school(master's) and half way into the doctorate program... he doesn't know
anybody who still uses Microsoft Office. 99.9% of them are only using Google
Documents. The 0.01% is the school staff who still has it installed on their
work computers, but rarely used.

I also have not used Microsoft Office in many years, except one time when
I tested it out on a new laptop. Uninstalled because Google Docs was much
easier to use.

Of course, I suppose there are people who do still need Microsoft Office for
a variety of work or personal reasons. I just can't think of a reason right now. Smilie

lol Apparently Microsoft is becoming more and more obscure all the time! They even want to charge for Windows 10 now. Couldn't even give it away to everybody previously. The stock must be worth less and less all the time. How sad.

Yeah, so, even though it's probably a licensing violation to do this... You can probably use your kids credentials or your old alumni info to get a copy for the small business you run. I tried and failed. Frown

We were required to use it at my last place of employment. The government regulatory agencies practically made us use it. They wanted all of their reports for audits in Excel and Word. We did not have a choice. Since we were a federally regulated institution I figured all of the other thousands of US banks had to use it too. So their is a market and a user base for it. I know I had to purchase a bunch of commercial copies for almost every employee at all locations.
