Thread views were most likely the main contributor to the thread in question ending up in Hot Topics.
Thread views are not the only criteria, but a major one |

How can a thread have that many views and that many thumbs up, yet so little actual posts? I have never seen that happen before.

many people don't post if they don't have anything worthwhile to add to the post other than "great deal" or so on. it usually evens out that if it is a good deal and hits the front page there's some actual postings
"This guy's walking down the street when he falls in a hole.
"A doctor passes by and the guy shouts 'Hey you. Can you help me?' The doctor writes a prescription, throws it down in the hole. "Then a priest comes along and the guy shouts up. The priest writes out a prayer, throws it down in the hole. "Then a friend walks by. The friend jumps in the hole. Our guy says, 'Are you stupid? Now we're both down here.' The friend says, 'Yeah, but I've been down here before and I know the way out.'" |
