Ya, this is pretty good deal if you are okay with Refurbished product.

Any one work with SquareTrade before on a computer item? I'm curious how the warranty would work on something like a failing hdd where the computer still boots but gives errors, or the non-replaceable battery begins to only last an hour off the charger.

Why are reviews so bad on amazon [amzn.com]? Are these having serious issues? Does anyone who owned this please share their feedback.

this model has serious mother board issues. If you want a machine that'll only last a year go buy it.

Squaretrade is amazing - Ive used a warranty on a TV, guy showed up two days later and repaired it. Used it on two laptops. One was totally replaced the second was totally fixed. Used it on one tablet (totally replaced). There alot more expensive now though but for this laptop 100 bucks for two years is not bad.

See here. [amazon.com]

Example review:
Processor Description: Core i7Size: 14 inch Verified Purchase
Beware bad hardware configuration... known issue... do not purchase.

Issues:
Hard drive is 5400rpm and is almost always at 100% capacity. Several known patches for this and all of them will fail and be over written by Windows10's incredible hardware wisdom...

Graphics drivers.. forget the graphics drivers.. the graphics driver fails sometimes dozens of times per day.

I dare you to close the lid on this thing and put the device to sleep. You will have to power cycle it and then restart after or risk losing the ability to use the task bar at some random point during the day. Dont worry though after a few restarts and a full HDD check and repair it will be fine... Just dont ever let it go to sleep. Treat this PC like it has hypothermia and a head injury .. DO NOT LET IT GO TO SLEEP.

Lenovo support will replace this with a new machine as many times as you wish with in the 365 day warranty... with of course the exact same machine or they will repair this one for you (restore windows and ship it back). There is of course nothing "wrong" with the machine. Each and every component if functioning perfectly well.. individually. Put them all in one machine and attempt to get them to run Win 10 and it's a different story. Sure it technically works and will technically work for years as long as you are willing to constantly repair it and immediately replace the slug of a 5400 rpm hard drive on day one.

Pros:
Accepted a wide variety of stickers both on the front and the inside around the crappy track pad
Powerful magnets in keyboard that make the lid hard to open cured my carpal-tunnel!
USB ports are well over 99% universal
Frequently soothes eye strain by randomly turning off the video drivers
Great tool for learning about laptop hardware and how to remove it
Perfect for college kids studying computer science to use as a cutting board in the cafeteria (those kids love their Panini's)
Cons: See above

I've purchased a high end computer monitor from Lenovo. Absolute worse CS of all time.

I've used squaretrade for years now. Whenever, it's a computer item they'll let you take it to a shop of your choice and give you a check of what it cost. You could also send it to one of their workshops and they'll fix it themselves and ship it back. All with 2 day shipping.

How can that be the review of the deal i have posted? At the review they have mentioned of having 5400 RPM HDD whereas this model has 256GB SSD.
I think it would be better if you find out the actual product in Amazon and share the review.

I have this comp, don't see what the big deal is. The reviews are of the older models with HDDs.

Whoops... sorry you're right. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be that many reviews on Amazon for this model to get a good baseline:

https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Tou...B01BCU5APG

All three reviews indicate that there was substantial hardware issues with this laptop. It's possible that new driver releases have fixed this issue, but considering it doesn't seem too popular on Amazon doesn't bode well. For what its worth, I had substantial problems with drivers with my product and Lenovo CS was unable to provide the necessary drivers.

That being said, there's a reason that refurbs exist... it's b/c people buy them new and then return them. This comes with a 30 day warranty and I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole (no disrespect to the OP).
