Thread Details

So I was trying to get a price match today for a computer processor and apparently pretty much all computer parts are now excluded from the claims policy. The policy itself has not been updated online yet, which is pretty frustrating. No one could send me the new exclusions so we will have to wait and see what other items are now excluded once they do update the terms and conditions online.

wow, pretty crazy to enforce a policy that's not public. Could threaten small claims or something as they're supposed to notify this stuff in writing and date of change.

Good thing I got both my claims approved last week. Too many people abusing it.

Tu and repped thanks op. Ill be curious if it is just for computer parts. I guess things such as ssd drives also count then?(am in the market for them currently)

they've been abusing it by sending claims with walmart screenshots that show an item in stock for a lower price when it is really not in stock at that walmart store.

If you haven't been notified of a policy change, then call them on it.

isn't there any yearly limit usually though on amount you can match per year?

yea. Pretty sure it's $500 max per item, and $2500 total per year.

I'd call back and ask for a supervisor - that's shady that they say they are excluded, yet it's not published online and there have been no customer notifications, not to mention they can't even send you the new exclusions. Ask them how one exactly would find this out - unless they are using the new Discover Telepathy card.

I just got off the phone with DISCOVER 5 minutes ago and was told the same thing. I asked how far this extended since the printer and NAS I was filing on are computer parts depending on how a computer part is defined. She said she didn't know and we will just see what happens when the claims are reviewed for approval.

Looks like I'm screwed on that GeForce 1070 I was going to file on once the price drops. Would have been nice to know this BEFORE I BOUGHT IT one week ago!

Also would have been nice to know of this upcoming policy change so I could submit my ALREADY PURCHASED computer parts before the deadline! Maybe that was the whole point...

this sucks if this is true - but wouldn't be surprised if its another thing that got shut down due to abuse esp after gaining visibility here.
