I have found Avis rates are significantly higher than the other companies when it comes to renting a car, even more than this Groupon value would be..keep that in mind before buying.

Priceline and Hotwire almost aways win regardless of status unless you need a specialty vehicle or are married to upgrades or have to get into the quickest checkout scenarios when exiting the agency.

Otherwise, discounts can be huge. I've rented cars on Maui in high season for $8 and in SF, etc etc.

Always, always check Priceline or Hotwire first and go from there.

Costo Car Rental is almost always significantly cheaper.

Renting car is bit tricky, i'd suggest don't invest in this groupon - $20 savings is not much when you can easily find good deal around without being tied to single company (AVIS).

Thanks, but I've read that the car rental counter will often ask for membership card - which they only give to banking customers.

I'm pretty sure they changed back to military only.

Can't be combined with any other promo codes. Not worth it

you can EASILY find a FREE coupon that would take $20 most rentals with Avis. Using this will void ability to use any coupons. Total waste of $$!

I am pretty sure you only need to know the right CDP, and no one is going to check whether you are a member, at least not for car rental.

I disagree. What you said is very likely by true in an airport rental, but when it comes to a local rental, directly rental can be cheaper with right promotion codes. I am currently on a road trip with a midsize suv picked up in a local hertz near my home. I am paying $307 for two weeks after all fee and taxes, that is $137 per week before taxes. I don't think Priceline can do the same price. Please let me know if Priceline can do cheaper, I would like to learn how.
