Be aware of the warranty service. The first review on Amazon pointed out that Monoprice doesn't handle warranty claims for products bought from Amazon (and I assume any other sellers other than Monoprice themselves may stuck in there). The customer was able to get a replacement from Amazon.
I bought quite a few cables from Monoprice a couple of months back. One went back so I contacted Monoprice. They did send me a replacement cable with nothing out of pocket but it took them two weeks to do it. I didn't get any response for a whole week after I sent the initial claim then I contacted with them again, they said they've sent an email earlier to confirm my address, which I never received (looked everywhere trash/spam/etc.).
In both cases the replacement was sent out but the service is not up to expectation.

Thanks for the heads up on the warranty replacement. From my experience with exercising warranties, that appears to be on par with many companies out there. The real positive experiences I've had were true exceptions (Some include: Fisher Price, Uppababy, & other big name baby gear companies etc.)

I want to pull the trigger but I don't know if monoprice honors the warranty if ordered through itechdeals

They also have generic lightning cables for $1 shipped [itechdeals.com] from their warehouse in NJ. Several of the 300+ reviews that don't seem fake state the cables work, at least out of the box.

Doubtful, but that's not to say that this seller wouldn't send you another one.

This company sent me a used product before - plus they take years to ship

I wouldn't be happy about getting a used item either. Did you ask for a replacement or refund and if so what did they say? Shipping looks like 5-7 business days and that is quite a long time.

Edit: I looked at the FAQ [itechdeals.com]and saw this:

Quote :
Are all the items being sold new?
Most items listed on the site are new and in original packaging. Occasionally, we will sell refurbished or wholesale packaged items, which allow us to offer even greater savings. The item's condition is listed in the "Specs" section of the page.
[...]
What is ITechDeals.com's return policy?
ITechDeals.com does NOT accept returns. If you receive a defective item you must notify us by clicking here or by clicking the "Contact" link at the bottom of the page within 14 days of receiving the item for an exchange. Please include your order number, the name of the product, the date of purchase, and the issue you are having with the item. If the item is out of stock we will issue you a full refund.

I did and you said other vendors "may" be stuck in that. I wanted a definitive answer.

I've always gone with these from Amazon (4 for ~$12). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

Work fine. I've had trouble with other brands before (snapping). Is there an advantage to the metal tipped cords in the posting (i.e. is it like gold plated HDMI) or does it not make a big difference? Thanks OP, I'm tempted.
