ugh, that processor. I wish more brands would adopt liquid cooling like the switch alpha.

That processor is fine for what this is intended to be. It's not a gaming machine by any stretch of the imagination.

However, reviews of this thing aren't that great [amazon.com].

yeah I've noticed all the new Intel mobile processor have pathetic clock speeds like 800MHz and crap like that. The benchmarks are not bad, but I know even some older games that require for example a 2.0GHz processor won't run because it's only 800MHz despite being more than capable to run the game.

what's the battery life like?

how's this compare to the xps 13? i mean .5" smaller screen? is that a huge difference? why would people pick this over the xps 13?

these are honest questions, not trolling.

This has no hinge -- comes apart. Can't use on the lap.

From the reviews I've read, battery life ranges from 3.5 to 5.5 hours of constant use.

The switch alpha is garbage. No one needs that much performance in a tablet. Those useless specs just lead to 4 hour battery life. A Yoga 900 is far better.

Just trying to get some feedback from other folks in market for a laptop at this price point.

I just got a Dell E5470 Latitude in below configuration, certified refurbished from Dell Outlet at ~$720 + tax. This was one of the 2 Touch LCD configurations I saw listed. I am sure they come and go.

Thanks in advance

I had the 4k and the 1080p version of this and the FHD is way better than 4k. The battery life on the 4k is like 3 hours.... major fail. Other than that, great system.

Runs VMs and heavy browsing just fine for me.
This is a great portability device with a fantastic keyboard compared to stuff like the Surface Touch Covers etc. Key pitch and depth are close to regular laptops but the form factor makes it so much easier to transport.
My FHD version gets from 4-9 hour of battery life depending on how you push it.

The base clock is 1.1Ghz but it does Turboboost up to 2.7Ghz.
My desktop PC has a 4790k and I have it step down to 800mhz and OC up to 4.2Ghz ... base clock doesn't mean anything.

Perf: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.p...40+1.10GHz
This is close to the single thread perf of the Desktop Sandy Bridge i5 but with a 7W TDP...not 95W

Win10 has scaling to fit your preference. Better res isn't a bad thing. The colors and clarity on the FHD version I have are 100x times better than any laptop I've ever had
