Is Penn Station any good? There's one here but I've never been.

I've only tried them when they had the free sub when you download their app. While the cheesesteak that I tried was delicious, the sandwich was only about twice the size of an Olive Garden breadstick sliced open

I like them better than subway, but not as much as Jersey Mike's. You can actually get oil and vinegar. I like their hot subs the most.

I really like their philly sub but, I rarely eat there without a coupon, which is more a reflection of my cheapness than their value. You can expect to spend about $10 for a 6" sub, small drink and fries. That said the quality is much better than subway. The fries are cooked to order and cut fresh daily. The meat is much less processed, at least it appears that way (have you seen the chicken patties at subway!?). The service has always been great for me as well. Subway on the other hand, well it's been hit or miss. They are always quick (even when busy), friendly (the manager knows me by name as soon as I come in the door) and overall it's just well run operation.

Penn Station is the best. I always get the most plain sub you can possibly get and pay the same price as if you load it with everything behind the counter (turkey, lettuce, American cheese), but to me it's worth it. I have eaten Penn Station regularly for the past 15 years and get either that or the Philly. Penn Station tends to stick in your stomach after you eat it for quite awhile and you will smell like your sub. My wife hates paying $10 for a sub for dinner, but to me, it's definitely worth it. I make her go there for my birthday every year and every year I hear her bickering about paying $10 for a turkey sub. I don't care because it's like JHC made the sub himself.

Penn Station veteran trick - have them toast the bread before they put the toppings on and then toast it with toppings. It will change your life forever.

Smaller subs than most places. More grease on hot subs than most. Better taste than most.

Haha, you sold me on it.

$10 is cheap for a birthday dinner though!

I went today, had no problem redeeming it from a screenshot on my phone. I used the auto link so I could skip the game. Thanks!

By the way, Penn Station's Monthly Special comes with a 6" sub, fries, and a drink is $6.99 every day, where as Subway's meal is like $6.50 and only comes with chips and a sub that isn't nearly as good.

This deal gives you a 12" quality sub for $4.99. I can't even get a 12" from Subway for less than $6 here in north DFW.

I do think Jersey Mike's and Which Wich is a little better/fresher sandwich-wise, but they rarely have good deals like this.
