Can't go to next page of replies on FP deals

DontTaxBeer 3,034 320 August 2, 2016 at 05:20 PM
The consecutive pages on each FP deal takes me back to page 1 and wont go further. Never happened before. I'm on Firefox 48.0 browser.

Same issue for me. Was on Firefox 47.0.1 so I updated to 48.0. Again, same problem.

It also happens with Chrome. I have to click 'view forum thread' to read anything past page one.

A few of us have tried to reproduce this and haven't been able to.
Which version of the site are you on? Redesign or Classic.

Which deals were you clicking through?

Those answers may help us go down the right path to reproduction.
OK first off thank you so much for the detailed descriptions.
This, plus an issue that someone emailed in, helped us narrow things down and reproduce the issue. The devs are currently working on a fix. Smilie

The same thing is happening on my end. I am using Firefox 48.0.

I am viewing the site with Classic Mode. If I open one of my threads, for example, this one, it will show the FP listing at the top and I can view the first page of comments.

If I click Pg 2 or Pg 3 at the bottom, it will take me to the same URL, but append #comments at the end of it. Obviously, this is just going to keep me on Pg. 1.

The only way to view additional pages, is to hit the "View Forum Thread" button and then click them.

I think that instead of appending #comments at the end, when you click page 2, 3, etc.... the URL should change to: ?v=1&page=X ... with X=Pg. #

Hopefully that makes sense. If you have any more questions, let me know.

Same thing here, I've notice this behavior since yesterday, using Chrome, Windows 10, Classic mode. However if I use Microsoft Edge browser it works fine, meaning that I click on page 2 or page3 or whatever page, and it goes to that particular page.
I don't know if this is something that Slickdeals site can fix or its a Chrome browser issue.

I was able to narrow this down as it was somewhat of a nuisance. While in classic view, advancing pages in a thread does not work. e.g.: http://slickdeals.net/f/8981835-12-count-of-2-1oz-quest-nutrition-protein-bar-double-chocolate-chunk-2-34-or-less-free-shipping-act-fast
This thread has multiple pages. While in classic view, if you click on any of the pages it reloads, but just dumps you back to the first page. Even typing in the URL string results in the same thing. Furthermore, I figured out the reason why is because in the classic view it's appending the wrong syntax. "&page=3" is added to the URL whereas, it should be appending "?page=3". Since the &page isn't recognized you end up back at the main thread page.

Site issues are best posted in the "Site Issues and Suggestions" forum.

I can confirm your issue, but there's a partial fix click the "view forum thread" button before you advance to a different page.

Hi, The devs are aware and working on a fix, for now just click "view forum thread" to get to the other pages.
