Are you bashing this deal based ONLY on size and lack of feature? Can you point to recent deals (around the same size, 4K) for a repuable (i.e. non-Chinese brand) TV that is better?

I am seriously asking, cuz I'm looking for a replacement for my 27" 1080p HP monitor. I don't play any games, but want really good resolution/quality. I also watch a little bit of TV/movie on the monitor.

With this deal, and the 10% cashback, It is $520 shipped for a reputable TV with decent reviews from a reputable seller.

Not bashing. Just saying a TV that's over a year old and only 43" shouldn't be costing so much.

Here's some ration/info about it: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x830c

Has great viewing angles, but the contrast isn't the best. You could probably find a better TV for similar pricing elsewhere to be honest.

i have the 850 series in 49". At 43", the pixel density is high enough where you could also use it as a PC monitor - equivalent to having four 21.5" 1080P monitors for great productivity. When I was buying, I was debating seriously between the 43" and 49". The 49" is way to big to put on a desk.

I've been waiting forever for the X850C to go on sale. It hasn't been on sale since May of this year, but I'm hoping it'll go on sale again sometime soon. This doesn't seem like a bad budget TV if anyone else out there doesn't want to wait for a specific TV to go on sale

I would love to have this as a 4k monitor, but it is definitely a lot of a year old model especially when you can get larger and newer models, albeit "lesser" brands", for around the same price.

Does anyone have any experience gaming on this monitor, PC or console wise?

Assuming companies stick to the tech and don't move on to something newer, yes. OLED manufacturing actually scales very well. They are just perfecting the process and jacking up prices to recover R&D cost.

We will probably see 70"+ OLED TVs under $1000 within 10 years.

there's already TOO much investment money on OLED not to bring down prices.. over 12 billion dollars on new factories alone.. a little more patience, buy a 1080p set for a few years..

Exactly. People who are badmouthing this T.V. don't know what the fark they're talking about. This is a good T.V. for the price (I own one) and it gets even better when you use it as a computer monitor. My parents LOVE this Sony as a computer monitor as they can actually see now what they're typing. It's PWM free and does 4:4:4, which most T.V.'s in this price range don't. For its intended purposes, it's awesome! Cool
