This is such a weird barebones kit.

One of the cheapest 1151 motherboards available
RAM has high CAS and the motherboard only supports 2133mhz so why is this 3000? It will still work but seems like a waste
Wouldn't trust that SSD but it seems to have decent r/w, although an ADATA, SanDisk Ultra II, and EVO all have better IOPS. If you do anything but casual internet surfing 120gb isn't enough storage, but you can pick up a 1TB HDD for about $40-50.
Decent case, but that's totally opinion. You can get way cooler cases for about $10 more though (Deepcool Tesseract SW)
Odd PSU...you can get an EVGA 430w, 450w, and sometimes 500w & 600w for cheaper. 430w is more than adequate and it's currently $29.99 with $15 rebate

If you live close to a Micro Center you can get this CPU/similar mobo combo for ~$223 including tax + $5 rebate:

Micro Center has $30 off select motherboards if you bundle with CPU. Here's a similar build with Micro Center parts swapped out:

If you don't have a Micro Center near you this is a decent deal overall if you're on a budget.
cpu
If you're going to build your own PC, you should get an unlocked CPU for a little more. It's way worth it in the long run.

mobo = cheapo one.
ram = cheapo.
case = not only looks like legos, but also is a dust trapper.
psu = not bad, but for $45, you can get a better one for less.
ssd = cheapo, might be okay, but i don't trust weird brands for ssd.

This all said, it's not a bad deal. It's just not a frontpage slickdeal.

I would recommend this for people who are willing to deal with that non-brand small capacity SSD, do not plan on overclocking, and want the convenience of a package deal.

And to the person who says "if you don't have something nice to say.." I have to reply that this is a deal forum and we should advise each other on what is or is not a good deal.
Agreed. This processor is the sweet spot for most games.

Front page material. Throw a gtx 1060 in here and youve got yourself a legit gaming PC. Would probably need a bigger case though. Not a bad thing considering the eye sore that comes with it.

The deal is a Shell Shocker combo deal, which has a special link that won't be active until 12:01 AM PT tomorrow (08/04/16).

I'll update the OP with the direct link at that time. You can also access it by going to the main Newegg Page and clicking on Shell Shockers section.

Not a mediocre CPU...

If you don't like it, simply leave the page. Your negative input doesn't help the slightest.
