Are sites like Cardcash or Raise legit? I'm trying to buy a laptop form HP, and it seems like I can reduce the price by almost $100 by buying gift cards, going through a website for %5 cash back (e bates, not sure if it works), then applying a coupon and the gift cards.

The thing is, I don't know if these card exchange sites are legit (or at least if this particular one is). Anyone have experience? Will my plan work?

Also, if mentioning rebate websites isn't allowed, then my mistake, I didn't know.

EDIT: By the way, is this the correct section for my post? If not, then please move my post.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

yes many of those sites are legit. However, what laptop are you trying to buy? And from where? using many gift cards sounds risky....some sites only let you input one gift card...sometimes to use more than one gift card you must make a phone order.

let us know what and where your trying to buy the laptop from

I'm not willing to disclose that, as then anyone can come in and snipe it before I can buy it...

its a risk. I don't know if HP accepts multiple gift cards online. Also aren't some of those gift cards sent by mail? If so, the price of the laptop could increase.

Apart from the gift card.

What laptop do you want? I recently bought an HP yesterday via phone. They have other discounts on the phone (a little bit better).

not the correct section... Snipe it? Bidding site? Buying gift cards to bid sounds shady. Don't get the item or any issues and you are stuck with a bunch of gift cards. Better be a sure thing.
