This is good value for the money. I have a pair of these, as well as some other ANC cans, and they are decent, if not up to the Bose cans in terms of noise cancellation. They sound OK, with somewhat muted highs, and the typical Velodyne emphasis on lower frequencies. I have used them on flights to Europe and Asia without fatigue. I have seen some people complain about durability, but I haven't had any problems (with moderate use). I do wish they came with a hard case for travel.

If you have time, can you comment on how well they work for active noise cancellation. I know that the reviews seem to vary from some saying they work great to others saying it is worthless. My very old pair of active NC phones probably eliminate about 40-50% of some noise at the frequency of an engine, but overall are not really better than my earphones that fit pretty well. Thanks.

Would these hold up for mowing the lawn and doing yard work?

It does significantly reduce of noise of someone vacuuming around me, could be better but this definitely makes a difference. Not so great for reducing the noise from people tho....

I found them to be acceptable, Especially the combination of isolation and nc. Not as good as Bose, but certainly better than just isolation. I often use them with no source audio to sleep on planes. Worth a shot at$28, IMO

sorry, didn't answer your question directly. I would say they take out 50% or maybe more of engine noise.

I have a pair and use them to cancel out the mower noise when I mow the lawn. They've worked great for me.

I have multiple of these headsets and they are perfect for kids. It even has a second 3.5mm input for daisy chaining the headphones. So two kids can share watching the same thing on the iPad if you want without special adaptor. Their sound quality is nothing to boast but they are perfectly acceptable at this price point. I use them for Amtrak and airplane rides all the time for the noise canceling.

Can someone help me to understand how these are rechargeable but not wireless? I'm thinking about getting a pair for flights, but will probably use them for an everyday trail we take that happens to be the flight path for our airport.

I have a pair of these and at this price you can't go wrong! They're extremely comfortable; I can wear them a full work day without discomfort. The sound quality isn't great but significantly better sounding with NC on. I just wish they came with a hard shell case but I picked one up on amazon for like $9 so NBD.

rechargeable battery is for noise cancelation; not for wireless capabilities.
