"Though it isn't clear how much the world's largest retailer would cough up for Jet, a personal familiar with the talks told Dow Jones that the website could be worth $3 billion, the organization reported Wednesday."

Use your coupons and any JetCash or credits you have with them before they disappear.

Did people actually use Jet? Their prices were usually subpar.

Prices were pretty spectacular shortly after they went live, although I suspect that was, at least in part, due to the bugs they still had in their pricing models. All in all, I paid maybe 50% of what the stuff I ordered from them would have been worth on Amazon.com or at Walmart. And I'm not talking about high margin merchandise here. You could have gotten daily essentials that have razor thin margins for 50% off Walmart and Amazon prices.
By now their prices are nothing to write home about even if you add multiple things to cart, which, they claim, should give you great pricing. The only way you can get a decent deal is if you use a new customer coupon and those are pretty much useless to anyone here on this site unless you're willing to risk being banned.

Yeah that was something that was really annoying with them - I'd see all these killer coupon codes but they were usually "For New Customers Only".

I did place a couple orders with them shortly after they went live last year, but nothing at all in the past 7 months or so.

Based on the very anecdotal evidence I hear about Jet's customer service, shipping, and product quality, Walmart and Jet would be a great pairing.

Seriously, does anybody regularly use Jet for their day-to-day shopping in the same way many of us use Amazon Prime? The only people I know personally who have used Jet *all* got burned with a bad experience and seem to have written it off.

Maybe it's ok and I only hear the bad stories. Wouldn't surprise me. But their reputation is not doing them any favors.

You probably only heard the bad stories. I placed between 7 to 10 orders with them since they went live and all worked out just fine. There were a couple of screwups where they shipped the wrong product but I never had issues with that. One product they just let me keep since it was a cheapo foodstuff item. For my trouble, they've gifted me $30 in Jet credit.
So, things definitely were not bad initially, but by now they've become just an average online retailer with mediocre prices.

I like Jet.com, but I wish they did more coupons outside of their new customers only. Sometimes you can find great deals on specific items especially with the coupon and no sales tax. I've purchased from there at least a handful of times and items delivered quickly with no issues.

I've placed 12 orders with Jet.com and my experiences were primarily poor. I received damaged items on 4 of 12 orders. Jet issued replacements in all 4 cases, but they are the only merchant I have ever dealt with to have such a high rate of damage. On 2 occasions I received duplicate deliveries. I tried to return the extra items, but they came from third party shippers so Jet told me to just keep the items. Free items are great, but I wondered if they were making the shippers pay for Jet's error. I used their shopping portal once and did not receive my cashback. Numerous phone calls and emails to Jet only resulted in them throwing their hands up and telling me there was nothing they could do. The first-time customer coupons coupled with the AmEx offers produced some very nice deals, but without that incentive I won't order a single thing from Jet.

I get dog food deals with jet.com. Not any more. Looks like they are driving my business to Amazon, not syphoning it from Amazon.

Same here, I've found things on jet that were pretty good deals including the monitor I'm currently using.
