Off the cuff this seems like a good deal, but others have had mixed results with Monoprice and "clean pull" hard drives. Link to previous SlickDeals discussion

Hitachi Ultrastar 7K3000 HUA723030ALA640 (0F19455) 3TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA III (6.0Gb/s) 3.5" Internal Hard Drive (Enterprise Grade) (Pulled Drive)

What is a "pulled" hard drive? A "clean pull" hard drive is one that was in a pre-built desktop system that was built by a system manufacturer but did not sell. The hard drive has been pulled out of the system and re-packaged in static free wrap.

Enterprise class, 7200RPM, 3TB drive for high-capacity nearline environments! Enterprise Grade Hard Drive!
The HGST Ultrastar(TM) 7K3000 is the world's first and only 7200 RPM hard drive rated at 2.0 million hours MTBF. The Ultrastar 7K3000 represents the fifth-generation HGST 5-platter mechanical design, first introduced in 2004, and has been field proven by top server and storage OEMs as well as leading Internet giants. When the highest quality and reliability are a top requirement, customer field data proves that the Ultrastar 7K3000 delivers by reducing downtime, eliminating service calls and keeping TCO to a minimum. Engineered for the highest reliability, the Ultrastar 7K3000 is not only put through grueling design tests during development but must also pass stringent ongoing reliability testing during manufacturing. Across the entire Ultrastar family, world-class quality control, combined with scientific root-cause analysis and multi-faceted corrective actions, ensure that HGST remains the recognized leader in quality and reliability for enterprise-class hard drives.

Doubling the capacity density
As data center professionals across the globe work to meet growing enterprise needs, they face the dilemma of storing more data in the same footprint while also reducing power and HVAC consumption. The new Ultrastar(TM) 7K3000 provides twice the data storage capacity of the prior generation Ultrastar A7K2000 drive, and does so using fewer watts.

Combining 7200 RPM performance and granular power control
Operating at 7200 RPM, the Hitachi Ultrastar 7K3000 offers better overall performance than slower-RPM, capacity-oriented drives at impressively low power-consumption rates. When compared to the previous generation Ultrastar 7K2000, the 7K2000 offers up to a 155% improvement in sustained data transfer rate, and a 120% improvement in watts-per-GB. With five Advanced Power Management modes, a 36% reduction in watts during low-RPM idle mode, and using less than 1W during standby/sleep mode, the Ultrastar 7K2000 can help data centers achieve lower AC power and HVAC requirements, freeing up precious headroom

Enhancing data safety and security
To ensure the utmost in data safety and security, the Ultrastar 7K2000 is also available with a bulk data encryption (BDE) option. When enabled, the Hitachi BDE implementation encrypts all data on the drive using a private security key as it is written to the disk, and then decrypts it with the key as it is retrieved, giving users an extreme level of data protection. Unlike softwarebased encryption solutions, the Hitachi BDE implementation is hardware-based, so it doesn't slow the system down. This technology also speeds up and simplifies the drive re-deployment and decommissioning process. By deleting the encryption key, the data is rendered unreadable, thereby eliminating the need for time-consuming, multi-pattern data overwrite

Delivering industry-leading reliability
With a robust fourth-generation mechanical design, Ultrastar 7K2000 is specifically built and tested for the enterprise. The Ultrastar SATA drive family features Hitachi-patented Rotational Vibration Safeguard (RVS) sensor technology, which optimizes drive reliability in multi-drive RAID arrays and rack-mounted systems. Backed by a five-year warranty, the Ultrastar platform has earned Hitachi a reputation among server and storage vendors as a global partner dedicated to delivering the highest quality and reliability in the industry.

Notice that this doesn't say that these drives are "Clean Pulls" just pulls which to me means they are used.- probably a lot. Not to say that they are bad - I have a bunch of pulls with 26,000 H and only 11 power cycles on them that are great.

Cheaper on ebay, and they have an ironclad 180 day warranty because of how ebay sales work.

And if you don't need 3TB specifically, the 2TB Hitachi drives are enormously cheaper, averaging 35 to 40 USD on ebay.

Warranty is not ebay controlled it is vendor or manufacturer controlled. Cheaper would depend on how many slots you have compared to how much storage you want. Having 50% more drives spinning is a cost too.
