The PoE switch has 8 PoE ports but a total power budget of only 46 watts. Is that enough to power 8 PoE security cameras?

Got mine too. Think we can get in on this deal if we already got the last one?

$10 for this router? Asus RT-N12/D1 N300 3-in-1 Wireless Router/AP/Range Extender

Seems like a deal! I have an old Netgear N300. Any idea if this Asus will be better than the netgear I have? (The netgear isn't that great, imo)

I'm in for another Asus N300 router. Lost the power adapter on the one I had in a move. Not worth trying to track down which of the 100 boxes it could be in for 10 bucks. If I find it later, I could probably get my money back on this at Craigslist.

How many square feet is your home? 1 story or 2? Just trying to get a feel if range is your main problem or constantly resetting the device since you didn't state.

Asus routers are good quality...I've been using them for years. My buddy who works in IT uses them exclusively, too, for what it's worth...and his household is, needless to say, a super-duty usage household (a literal Brady Bunch going on there). The AC66 is a real workhorse and occasionally goes on sale at $99 if you care to step up a few rungs on the performance ladder, but it all depends on how many users you have and range requirements.

I've always received my rebate submissions from Asus (via Newegg) fwiw. Yes, they take awhile to arrive, but what rebate doesn't?

It's a somewhat small apartment. I have trouble when more than 1 device is being used (like my cellphone and PS3), plus I am constantly only getting 1 bar on the cellphone even when the router is very close.

Does anyone know how the router would do as a wireless adapter? My current PCI-E adapter can only pull in 9mbps at best on the other side of the house. (our connection is around 60mbps)

I would not hesitate to try this one out, then, for $10 AR. I have used this exact model in a 2500 sq ft 2 story home with this router located in my basement and done so with decent coverage, despite the far less than ideal setup I just described.

Edit: I should also add, I have a couple kids constantly streaming YouTube (while we are sometimes trying to watch Netflix at the same time). That is why I eventually splurged for an RT-AC66W. Your usage sounds far less strained than mine on a router. I would expect rock solid performance for your situation.

Avoid refurbished routers, by the way...again, that is according to my IT friend.

I've been meaning to hop on a router/modem deal for awhile so I can stop paying the monthly rental fees. Is the cable modem a good deal at $99 or should I wait for something better? Does it work with RCN and Comcast (the two companies available to me) and support the fastest speeds? If I'm in a small apartment, will the router be fine or are there others that offer faster speeds? Thanks in advance for any advice!
