Sorry for the dumb question.
Without unlocking from cricket, does it work with TMobile?

You'll need a different sim card but ATT and T mobile phones are interchangeable from my experience. Family member swtiched from t mobile to ATT prepaid to cricket and worked just fine.

No, it won't work on either T-Mobile or AT&T until it has been unlocked. Cricket will unlock after 6 months of service.

As others have said, Cricket phones won't work with AT&T, but if you have Cricket service they will unlock it if you have the $70 plan, and there's no time requirement.

You can switch to the $70 plan on the last day of your billing cycle. They will prorate the extra cost for the rest of the month (around $1 for that one day if you currently have the cheapest plan).

Ask for an unlock quickly after switching, and then after you have the unlock switch the plan back.

This worked for me about a month ago.

Great price for the ecosystem, but terrible for its hardware, SD210 CPU + 1gb RAM.

I'm confused why MSFT didn't make a more distinctly different phone. Aside from the aluminum siding on the phone, it's really not that much different from the 640. The primary camera is a little worse, but the secondary front facing camera is vastly improved from 1 mp to 5mp.

If you can even call it an ecosystem anymore. Sadly the plug will be pulled on Windows Phone in 1-2 years tops. Windows Phone has been a huge financial loser for Microsoft ever since it was released and it's clear the company no longer has much interest it in.

As usual I'm perplexed at your comments in another smartphone thread. Why at any price would you promote the Windows Phone ecosystem?? And yes, specs can always be better but it's $50 and, being that Windows Phone has low requirements for a very smooth experience, 1GB and a SD210 won't be an issue.

It's probably perfectly fine for a windows phone (at least it is for the lumia 640). If this was a 1gb android phone then I would be telling people to run away as fast as you can.

Couldn't you buy an unlock code for it as a workaround or do they not sell them for this particular phone? Not necessarily asking you;just throwing that I idea out there and trying to find out if anyone here has tried with this phone.

Awesome! Cricket is usually the first one to have these windows phones, then they make it to AT&T and sometimes T-Mobile and MetroPCS. It's nice to know that there's life on the low end past the Lumia 640. This will be an awesome $30 GoPhone by holiday time.
