These are good scissors for small kids. But they always go on sale for a buck during back to school. There actually .99 at target right now ... http://m.target.com/p/fiskars-5-b...A-21454431

Yes - and $1.99 appears to be regular price.

A lot of schools use Westcott kids scissors, they're always this price and sometimes cheaper. You can get the 12x pack for $10 often. Neither one is superior, but Fiskars charge more.

The term "#1 teacher recommended brand" is meaningless and likely misleading.

if by chance you have Menards closer to you, they are for 37 cents now. they are only in few states anyway.

I didn't realize there are 5 inch tall blunt kids... Poor things. At least someone is caring enough to make scissors for them.

Unfortunately, our school supply list specified Fiskars and the exact size. I always wonder if Fiskars has some kind of deal with the NEA...I've always found all their products to be just okay for the price, from shovels to machetes, etc. But for a buck or two, not worth the worry.

That's a great question...I think the whole idea behind these "anonymous supply lists" is that nobody gets called out. FWIW, our church donates money to fill the holes in the supply shortages, but I wonder what would happen if nobody bought anything. Not sure, we're just starting kindergarten next week. School has changed a lot in 30 years.
