Have retailers just decided they can't discount below $70/2TB? Seems like we see a bunch of deals for $70/2TB, and the -occasional- deal for $50-60/2TB. But instead of seeing more deals for $50-60/2TB all we see now are deals for $90/3TB and $110/4TB. Why can't they give us deals for $50-60/2TB instead of basically forcing us to pay more for more storage that we're not going to need?

BTW TU

I like how you roll. When talking about drives, most people say "oh this drive costs $xx per terabyte." You on the other hand... talk about xx/2 TB? WTF is that all about? LMAO

Why can't these 4TB drives ever go for below $104 - $109? Every deal here for this portable is never below $104.

2TB is a good size for most uses. The $35/TB threshold is not useful because, as I mentioned above, retailers have stopped discounting 2TB drives and have simply moved on to trying to discount larger capacity drives. I don't want to buy an 8TB drive for $160, but I would be very interested in buying a 2TB drive for $40.

They went to 100$ on prime day at Amazon and Staples.

Staples also had 25$ on 100$ Visa checkout effectively making it 75$ for the same drive. But that lasted only for a few hours and not everyone was able to get it at 75$ as staples rejected the 25$ discount for some saying it doesn't apply to an already discounted item.

So to conclude, this is actually a good deal.

Dude, I just emailed Newegg to let them know they need to adjust their deals to ninjastyle from the internet's needs.

Expect a great deal on 2tb/$40 within the next 48 hours.
