Late warning: Win 10 "anniversary update" needs a whopping 20G of space
You would think that Microsoft would be nice enough to warn people about this by giving everyone a warning message BEFORE the start of the update process but NOPE.
On three of my PCs I didn't notice this issue because I had plenty of space, but on the last PC I have this weiner 60G SSD with only about 11G left so I ran into problems.
Again, the problem was with MS not giving me a warning before I spent some time trying to download and install:
- 1st time around, it just gave me this stupid "not enough memory to create ramdisk" message, which really could've been a whole number of things causing it
- 2nd, 3rd time around I kept trying to take care of the above message, no luck
- FINALLY, I directly downloaded the update executable file. Then finally it gave me the error message I needed to see (of course, this is still after all that time is spent re-downloading the stupid update) that I NEED 20G OF SPACE.
Ugh. Hopefully my little warning would help someone with a small SSD so someone else wouldn't have to go on the same retarded hamster wheel.
