Great price for a really nice wireless headset. They are comfortable to wear, they don't lose connection, and the battery life is up to 8 hours. If you need more, you can buy an extra battery for a quick swap. The old model suffered from sound break-ups. This now works flawlessly. Some folks have complained that the mic isn't perfect, but I haven't experienced any serious issues. It works just fine for regular gaming sessions. The surround sound is nice too.

The price is really great, but I have to disagree with you completely. I picked this up from Dell and I am considering returning them.

I primarily use ASTRO products - A40, A40 TR (probably no difference) and the A38 (BT Wireless for phone/occasional laptop, iOS or desktop).

Issues I have found on Windows 10:

-
  1. It decreases my Wireless N and Wireless AC speeds by greater than 20% (sometimes cuts off the WiFi signal completely). So much, that RDP sessions cannot paint back until I remove the USB receiver.
  2. When they go to sleep it can be nearly impossible to get it back. You need to turn it off, turn it on, play with a couple of buttons etc.
  3. When it goes to sleep, I need to restart the show/website I was viewing. Maybe this is a Firefox/VLC thing, but it has never worked flawlessly. A couple of times, I have been able to swap audio sources and it worked, but com'on?
  4. The Audio is really bad... this may be because I am used to STERO vs simulated sound, but compared to any other, non 5.1/+, it sounds like there are echo's or offbalance. I really do not know how to explain it. Maybe someone can offer advice on here?
  5. The battery did NOT last anywhere near 8 hours and I disabled the stupid lights.
  6. The headset feels very cheap, but it is pretty comfortable
  7. The Wireless receiver is HUGE. The plus is you could not possibly loose it accidentally.
  8. It did not work well with VLC video sources over RDP.

I installed, and reinstalled, the Logitech software from the site... Windows 10 Pro on an Alienware 17R1 and Dell Precision 7810.

The plus is the range is really good.... once it is working, but it still sounds off when playing music or listening to a stereo source. I have not returned it , yet, because I figured that there must be a profile for stereo-only that will level out things. Disabling 5.1 alone did not seem to fix the quality.

I could not agree more. Bought these at Best Buy last night. I'm taking them back this morning. I got this headset to replace my gen 1 Astro A50's. I really wanted to like the G933's but honestly they've had nothing but issues since taking them out of the box. Both the headset and the logitech software. Problems with the mic cutting out, headset randomly turning off(even while using the mic), updating the firmware, battery showing 30% one minute 70% the next, would work with obs at times and then not at all. Even just trying to reset the headset was a problem. In the end this headset gave me a headache trying to get it working properly.

You guys probably have faulty headsets because I've had none of those issues with my G933.

I got these when they just came out to replace my G930's. These were better in every way but two except where it mattered for me: the disconnects and the stupid LEDs you couldn't fully disable.

I still had disconnects with the G933 and the range really wasnt that much better. Although you could disable the LEDs when the headset was on you'd still have to deal with the "startup/shutdown" routine where the LEDs would do a silly display...i wanted mine off always.

The fit was great and comfortable and sound was good. I think mostly because of the snug fit but it wasnt enough for me. The battery also didnt last the 8hrs.

I ended up returning them within 10 days for the $199 they were and got a new set of G930 for $70. This is a good price, but i would not be tempted to buy these again.

What platform(s) do you use it with? I saw similar remarks when buying it, but I cast most off as user error, driver corruption, etc, but I keep my systems clean and I reinstall quarterly.

Windows 10 professional 64 bit. I assembled a brand new computer from various parts from Newegg and have had it for nearly two months now. It is crucial that you make sure to update the firmware of the headset. Prior to the last firmware, the headset would shut off 5 minutes after no audio being detected...essentially a power saving feature.

The newest firmware allows you to customize it so it doesn't shut off.

Jumped on this. Best price and the $10 extra off covers the tax... nice bonus. I had the old 930s and loved them but they got beat up over the years.

The headset turning off automatically is actually a feature to me. I'd rather they shut off if they are not being used rather than kill the batteries. I do tend to turn them off then on again to get them going, but it's not such an inconvenience to reach up to my ear and hit the switch.

These aren't the worlds greatest headphones for music, but they do a nice enough job. I tend to use them primarily for gaming. The surround sound works great for games that support it. It is very helpful to have the ability to hear those enemies creeping up behind you.

If you're looking at these, you probably want a wireless headset. This is an excellent wireless headset.

Had these since launch and then exchanged them last month for Razer Manowar which are much more comfortable than these with leatherette cups and better directional sound.

The only downside on the Razer is the lack of DD and DTSX.

G933 do have more features for the lower price.

So if I bought this from bestbuy using my discover do you think I'd still be able to get the $10?
