Definitely. I would say their standards have fallen which could be attributed to a combination of laziness (return on investment still good enough so why bother striving for perfection) and technology allowing our eyes to observe in greater detail.

and also we now have 4k and hd. i watched the lord of the kings trilogy in hd and some of the scenes really look like they were shot in a set.
