This one seems to have been around a while now. Think my first purchase was a couple years ago or something. If they were obtaining these illegally, I'd think they'd have been shut down by now.

This game even worth it on pc? I might get it anyway at this price and run through the campaign (plus I do like the survival mode)

Thanks! For that price why not. I'm hoping the single player chaos and survival modes are fun.

They way they ask for your phone number after you've completed the purchase is weird to me, but I got the email instantly with a link to the picture of the key that activated on steam.

I am sure many of you do not care, but a lot of these cd key sites are selling illegal keys. They purchase them using stolen credit cards and resell them to unsuspecting users. The keys can end up getting revoked (up to the publisher) when this is identified and in some cases can end up getting your account banned.

I am not calling out this site in particular or these keys. Just wanted to mention this as a buyer beware PSA.

Possibly. Most of these sites are not in the US so shutting them down is not possible. Many of the sites we found our "stolen" keys being sold on have been around 5+ years.

You just have to ask yourself why they would be sold for significantly under steam prices and who would be taking the loss. It is more common sense than anything.

Again. Not trying to start any arguments. Just pushing the buyer beware portion

He's using some terminology in the wrong place that makes me think he misunderstands what is actually going on.

Long story short, they are playing dumb on selling fraudulently gained keys. Much like eBay allows people to drop ship from amazon using stolen cards for profit as well. Neither site is in any danger of closing down as they dont ask and you dont tell them where the goods came from.

If that bothers you, don't purchase. If not, you do risk having the key get invalidated, and accounts (depending on services) banned. However this is pretty rare on the former and unheard of on the later. If you want to support the developer, and see them make more games? Buy through 1st party directly, B&M, or through non grey market services like steam.

The primary source for these grey market sites are fraudulent CC purchases, and people who eat up all the keys in a giveaway/bundle and sell them on sites like this.

The only time I bought a game key through CD Keys it was pretty sketchy. The key was actually a photograph of it (like something that might have been included with a GPU or something), and so I figured that at best they were reselling promo keys.

Haven't used the service since as to me it's one step above just pirating it off of TPB. Instead I stick to normal outlets even if it's a couple dollars more.
