You notice a lot more Blu Ray deals these days and I think I know why. I own a 4K TV and I've stopped buying Blu Ray because you know damn well they're going to re-release everything in 4K. Boxed sets, special features, the works. Just like they did with DVD, just like they did with Blu Ray. We're being flim flammed as consumers into buying new discs every time a new player comes out. And I've had enough.

I hear you, I only buy:

Steelbooks

3D editions over 4K (No 4K TV yet)

4K editions ONLY for titles that 3D is not an option for future proofing.

If they would just make 4K titles that ALSO include the 3D version when available, but so far only a few titles have been that way.

I have the same problem. Most of the time the movies I want are sold out at my local stores. Happened today with the 1st season of Fargo.

8K will come. Not as fast as 4K did but besides the point.
