Seems like a good price for a battery bank, especially since there's been a drop in sales since Pokemon Go came out. Bought one. Solar charger seems like a gimmick but maybe the panels have gotten better since I bought a fold-able panel set a couple years ago. Anyone else actually charge the battery with the PV?

Same question here. For under $12, this seems like a good buy. Been waiting for a 20kmah pack but this will do just fine in the interim. Plus hoping the PV is more than just a noveltywoot

I do a lot outdoors in the North GA mountains and have found myself without battery power. It would be great to have this with a solar panel that actually charges it. Has anyone ever had luck with charging a battery like this or a cell phone with a portable solar panel? Thanks

Cool device! And about $5 cheaper than competing models on amazon.

Has a built in flashlight which is cool. This is basically your common battery pack but with a solar panel on it. From what I can determine the panel is only able to produce about 100-200mah in direct sunlight, so it would take a long time, like days I the sunlight to get a good charge on it.

I've read some people consider the solar panel not as a primary charge source, but as a "charge assist" to speed up the charge time when plugged in to a normal USB source. Or just as a means to prevent the battery from losing its charge when sitting for weeks- months without use.

thanks picked one up. may come in handy here in South Florida when at the beach and need to charge a phone or Bluetooth speaker. the water resistance is a plus too and for $12 why not

In for one, thanks OP! We get some nasty blizzards that knock out power here every few years, this could be good to have for those days. At that price I don't care if it takes 35 hours to fully charge on PV, 1/4 of the capacity is enough to recharge my phone fully.

Reviews look spotty for performance as a solar charger, maybe the panel size doesn't make the feature practical, almost 30% of the reviews are 3 stars or less........

The solar panel is a great idea and does work but is practically ineffective, it barely charges the battery. Don't count on it recharging the battery pack more that a few percent.
Well that sucks.. saved me $12. thanks.

Any solar panel that comes with power banks are completely useless in the real world. Using the solar panel on this unit, in direct sunlight, it would take close to a week to recharge this battery pack (from solar alone)

From the reviews, this does sound to be iffy on the solar panel other than providing a trickle charge to stop it from losing power. Well still $12 for a 9000mAh pack.
