How could they not be BS? It's a block of salt with a light bulb in it...it's not going to clean anything out of the air. The negative ion thing only works with a charged plate to remove them after ionization. The red wavelength colors however MAY have some marginal affect on relaxation/tiredness however.

Aesthetically though, it's sorta cool looking : )

Makes for a cool light. Air purifying, not so much.

Comes with "3 free bulb", says so right on the box.

If you buy this, please find an LED bulb to go inside of it. Such a huge waste of power with an incandescent!

Don't buy this because it has some mystical "ionization" effect, buy it because it's cool. Smilie

I was given one of these as a gift and I'm ashamed to admit it, but I initially had a "roll the eyes" reaction.
All I can say is that I was wrong. I absolutely love the thing. The bulb is only a few watts, and it provides the most welcoming, warm (color more than any heat), soothing, and gentle light.

If you ever wanted a night light for yourself, or perhaps wanted to put one in a child's room, this would be my first choice.

It's also as close as you're going to get to a natural light (minus the bulb and cord of course). Natural salt, wood, and again, a light that's more "natural" than any thing you're going to get from LED, halogen, or even incandescent (using pink bulbs comes close to the effect).

Here's the rule:

If it can be patented by a megacorporation = it is "proven 'safe & effective'."

If it cannot be patented by a megacorporation = "it's a scam; no 'scientific evidence' that it does anything."

The FDA would never lie to you.

OT, but I noticed your NWIH image. Saw a "Hillary for Prison" bumper sticker. First time I saw it I had to do a double take, but LMAO anyway...

This country needs a "None of the Above" ballot choice. For the sake of us all.....
