Seriously? For $150, you consider this isn't a deal because it does not support hdcp 2.2?

I think he's just saving people the hassle of asking. Still a good deal, but it may be worth waiting for another deal if you're after that compatibility.

I ordered one yesterday, and they have already shipped it via Fed Ex ground. This also has a two year warranty and is brand new, not refurb. I couldn't find anything close to this in this price range.

It is replacing a Pioneer VSX 523 which went bad suddenly and only had a one year warranty. I would be suspicious of a company that only gives a one year warranty.

You must see words that no one else does or be some kind of super psychic, because no where did I say or imply it was NOT a deal

It is important for some, so if you do want hdcp 2.2 get the Denon avrs510bt when on sale for $200 or less (refurbished), but that's a whole other topic

Also have the pioneer vsx, got it for $125 new after coupon, fully knowing and expecting it to go bad at some point, given the poor reviews... Hasn't happened yet since I barely use it, but eventually it will die

As for refurbs, sometimes they are a better investment because the components that failed, are usually replaced with more durable ones (not always) eg crappy capacitors

Does this not have a regular RCA for older audio devices? (e.g. phonograph, no lie..)

Edit - Nevermind, I see them now. Going to have a relative pull the trigger because I think they're far from needing HDCP 2.2.

My $500 Pioneer's (got BB open box for $300 no warrenty Frown ) HDMI board is on its last of 7 legs, and I am tired of dealing with it. This Sony might just be the crutch I need for a fraction of a high quality receiver price for my 5.1 living room.

FYI, open box Pioneer from Best Buy come with a one year warranty, and if you charged it on a major credit card, the CC company will usually cover the second year for free. Pioneer Elite has a two year warranty plus possible extra year.

Unfortunately I have to hide this in an out of sight cabinet. Anyone have options or an economical way how I can get the remote to work on this without getting off the couch?

Damn lighting took out my pioneer system and Panasonic plasma last week.
Managed to replace the hdmi board in the tv. No luck with the receiver.
This will make a good substitute.

is HDCP 2.2 a must for 4k? I read up on it and get it, but specs and information don't really convey the "real world" scenario. Is a modern 4k tv still okay to use w/ this receiver, or is HDCP 2.2 a hard requirement for viewing any 4k content?

I got this over a year ago from Fry's for $124. It replaced a Pioneer VSX-921-K that just up and died shortly after the warranty was up. Fair deal at 150 for what you get.
